Wondering how that's possible? Well, it really quite genius.
Membership is absolutely free and most penny auction sites also offer up to five free bids when you join, to get started. In order to bid on Neiman Marcus, Saks and Barneys gift cards (we won a $200 Nordstrom gift card for 1.03!) or hot bags and accessories from designers such as Chanel or Marc Jacobs, you must buy bids.
After you purchase the desired amount (starting at around $20, PayPal accepted), you can then proceed to place bids on any auction. The clock will count down and members have a chance to bid against each other until someone wins.
In order to be fair and ensure that all members have a chance to win, most designer penny auctions sites designate certain auctions as 'beginner only'. Meaning, only members who have not yet won an auction may bid. There is also a daily or weekly win limit. It can be so easy to win that they want to make sure everyone has a chance. I personally seem to reach my limit every time I log on. Every time I win, I always share the auction with friends on Facebook and earn extra bids. Want even more?
